If you choose to breed to one of Spotted Haven’s Stallion, Please use
the following instructions, and sign the contract below.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Sign and return two copies of this contract to stallion owner
above.
2. Enclose Stud Fee with contract, payable to Johnny McKeehan
3. Enclose copy (s) of mare’s reg. papers (front and back) if
registered.
Once the STALLION OWNER has accepted and executed the Breeding
Contract, an original copy will be sent to you.
Mare Owner must give the Stallion Owner 24 Hrs notice of needing
Shipped Semen.

1. This contract is good for one Breeding Year.
2. The breeding fee is $450.00. PLEASE READ
CAREFULLY:
A. The shipment of Semen is a separate fee
charged by the company Shipping. The fee is $325.00.
This
fee is paid by
the mare owner.
3. All Fees must be paid prior to shipping. Breeding fees
are
non refundable!
4. A 2 week preliminary notice is required. A 48 hour
notice
is required for actual shipment. If Proper
Notice is not given Semen will not be Shipped.
5. Mare Owner Understands that semen is shipped on a limited basis.
Stallion
must be transported to
collection facility. Stallion and facility also
show
and may not be available certain days.
Because of this the request for semen
must be made no less than (2) two days
prior to insemination.
6. Shipped Semen requests will be filled in the order they are
received.
We will only Collect and Ship
Monday, Wednesday and
Friday
in order to keep the quality of semen.
7. Mare owner will have three breedings and if the mare
does
not check in foal the stallion owner
will require a breeding soundness examination
done by a licensed Veteranarian and a written report
sent to the stallion owner before any more semen
will
be shipped.
8. A Copy of the mares registration papers is required
prior to shipping semen.
9. Johnny and/or Heather McKeehan and Spotted Haven Farms
will not be held responsible for lost/
damaged/ delayed semen.
10. This contract has a live foal guarantee. This is
defined as a foal that stands an nurses. Breeder must be
notified within 7 days, and sent a
veterinarian certificete, if the foal does not stand and nurse or the
mare
slips the foal. Rebreeding is
guaranteed for the original mare or another as agreed to by both the
mare
owner and the Breeder. Rebreeding
applies to the stud fee only - semen processing/
transportation costs
will be at the expense of the mare
owner.
There will be a gas surcharge of $50.00 for each additional
Shipment.
11. Should the stallion die or become unfit for breeding,
the mare owner will be refunded the breeding fee,
less veterinary / shipped semen
costs. Or the mare owner may chose another stallion owned by
Spotted
Haven.
12. The Breeding season will be from Jan. 1st to Dec. 31st.
13. Mare owner acknowledges that the breeder STRONGLY recommends that
the
mare be followed by a
licensed veteranarian during the insemination
process
and that the mare have pregnancy checks via ultra sound
at 17 days.. Breeder also STRONGLY
recommends Rhino vaccinations at 5 - 7- 9 months, plus all normal
vaccinations appropriate for the mare owners
locale.
14. Insurance on the mare is STRONGLY recommended.
15. The breeder will not be held responsible for any mare not
conceiving or aborting during the pregnancy.
16. This contract is non-assignable and non-transferable.
17. All fees in this contract are in US funds.
18. This contract is an agreement between the Mare Owner and
Breeder. No other agreements, verbal or
otherwise, are included unless
specifically stated in writing.
19. If any part of this contract is broken by the mare owner this
contract
is null and void and the mare
owner receives no monies refunded.
19. This contract is governed by the laws of the Common Wealth of
Florida.
